1st parent-teacher meeting in the new term

1985年我第一次离开家乡去到美国波士顿，成了中国首批自费留学美国吃螃蟹的人。 

我有3个家乡：杭州是我出生长大的地方，27岁时去了波士顿，在那里生活、学习和工作15个年头；然后我又带着全家去到香港，又度过了19个春秋。我在杭州、北京、香港和波士顿都生活过，终生从事国际教育，教过书、做过政府教育官员、当过专业顾问，精通两门语言，培育了两个女儿成才（兼为美国律师）。

现在我重新回到了杭州工作，乐意跟大家分享我的留学生涯、海外生活的体验和养儿育女的心得。欢迎大家常来我这里交流做客。

亲爱的家长：你们好！

新学期，新气象。

在娃哈哈学校里，我们坚信：学校的优质教学和健康运作都离不开每一位家长，因为你们是我们办学旅途中最忠实的合伙人、最有价值的资源，也是我们的同路人，因为我们会在一起共同见证孩子们的成长。

开学伊始，我代表学校向大家发出一个邀约：请大家积极参与学校的各项活动，配合老师搞好教学，同时在校外帮助孩子培育正确的人生观和价值观，也给学校发展出谋划策。

为便于大家更好地参与，学校会帮助家长群体成立属于自己的家委会，为家校联络提供一个宽阔而温馨的交流平台。家委会的组成结构是：由班级代表组成年级家委会，然后以年级代表组成全校家委会。从现在起，大家就可以向孩子的班主任老师报名啦。

我相信经过我们的共同努力，我们学校会办得更有活力，我们的孩子们就会成长得更加健康和智慧。

Greetings from the Parent Relations Office

Welcome to Wahaha Schools. I am George Yu in charge of the Parent Relations.

We believe strongly that parents are indispensible to the smooth running of a good school. You are the inseparable partners in the business of delivering quality education to the students. Let’s work together to ensure that our students can fulfill their promise for future.

So I would like to invite our parents to participate inthe school activities. Please help us to make our schools a better place for the children as follows:

Support our teachers so that they can focus on teaching.

Do your share at home by cultivating in our students the right attitudes and values.

Contribute your ideas, time and resources so that school can deliver more value and services to the community.

To facilitate our partnership, we would like to assist our parents to form a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). Its structure includes the Grade-level PTA and School-wide PTA. Interested parents please step forward and sign up with your child’s home room teacher now.

In addition to PTA, we will provide other channels to keep you all informed of our work. I look forward to working with you in making the children’s life here the most rewarding.
